We understand that sometimes things just happen. Mail gets lost and packages can be damaged in delivery. As an author, you want to be sure that your book is received and your cover letter is reviewed - and it sometimes can help put your mind at ease to know ahead of time whether or not your book will make the cut and be reviewed.
We strongly suggest when sending your book to be reviewed by The Fiction Addiction that you choose a mailing delivery service you trust and that can provide tracking information for you. Requesting a book review ahead of time will help, as well, as it will give us prior notice that your package is on the way.
If you submit a request to have your book reviewed, we will contact you within three (3) days of receiving your request with the name and contact information of your reviewing agent. This agent will let you know where and how to send your materials to him or her directly and speed up the process. Your reviewing agent will remain in contact with you throughout the reviewing process and will be available to answer any questions that you may have.
If you decide to submit your book and materials directly to The Fiction Addiction without first submitting a book review request, this process may take a little longer. If your cover letter is complete and your contact information is present, our managing editor will contact you via email to let you know that we have received your materials and that your cover letter is being reviewed for consideration.
Please do not call us to follow-up on your submission. If you believe sufficient time has passed and you wish to follow up and confirm that we have received your materials, you may contact us. Be sure to include your name and the title and ISBN of your book along with any other information that will help us to identify your submission.
Absolutely not!
We treat each and every book review as an opportunity to read a new book and offer our genuine recommendations and opinions. Charging for such a service would undermine our integrity. And, let's face it, you probably wouldn't trust a book review to be unbiased if you paid for it.
Besides, what if the review is bad... or at least more negative than you were expecting? Would you really want to pay for a review that would do you more harm than good should it be released?
All things considered, we give the same attention and consideration to every query and request for a book review. We ensure that the same care will be taken by not charging for any reviews.
No.
Once again, we treat every book review and query the same. Each review will entail a genuine appraisal of your work, regardless if you've paid to have it written faster or not. Paying for expedited services will not guarantee a good book review. The only thing that paying for an expedited service will guarantee is that you will receive your book review faster than if you submitted a standard request.
Our reviewing agents are not paid to write favorable reviews. They will receive the same amount of money regardless if the book review is returned in your favor or negative.
Once our review of your book is written, you are given full rights to use and distribute that review however you wish. The only requirement we ask is that you leave the name of the reviewing agent and The Fiction Addiction as having written the review.
Your review will be posted on our site. In addition, we will submit your review to other article sites free of charge.
In general, if our reviewing agent cannot offer you at least three (3) stars on a five (5) star scale, you will be contacted with a copy of the review prior to having the review released or published to any site.
If you believe that your work was rated unfairly, you may request that another reviewing agent be assigned to review your work and create a new review.
If you paid to have an expedited review that turned up to be negative, you will be contacted for more information and to help determine a new course of action. Should you decide to have your work evaluated and reviewed by a second agent, you will not be charged for expediting the new review. To ensure an objective review, the new reviewing agent will not be provided with any previous materials relating to your first review and it will be treated as a fresh review submission.
If you are still dissatisfied or if the second review also turns up a negative result of less than three (3) stars out of five (5), we may discuss with you offers of a refund (if you paid for an expedited review). You may also decide to have your manuscript edited or critiqued by one of our professional editors before re-submitting your work for another review.
Please note: If you opt to refuse publication of your initial review while pending edits or critiques of your manuscript, you must start the review process over again when you are ready to re-submit your title. This includes submitting a new request to have your book reviewed.
